Comparison 17 And 18 Inch Wheels

Hi

Has anyone compared the ride between the 17 and 18 inch wheels.. ie is it firmer or softer

Very similar....even with the Sport suspension....infact with that suspension, it's actually a tad better (less bouncy).

Alan,

You surprise me as I did say B4 that ,on Dunlop Sportmaxx's,my SEL's 18" ride is marginally better than the 17" I had for 6mnths & ,importantly,the stance of the car is SO much better with the arches filled.

Tel Yes you did I was jsut wondering if the bridgestones would make a diffs as the dealer thinks they are much firmer ride than dunlops

Hi,

Its all down to what tyre profile you go for.

With the slightly larger alloys of 18s the profile will be lower giving a slightly harsher ride against the 17s if the profle is higher in keeping with the speedo readings in check.
