Hi all,

Buddy of mine has a 318 ci (not new) and a light came on the dash that i have an enquiry about. Seen as a lot of IS owners "upgraded" from the 3 series to the current IS i thaught some might no bout it! The light is orange and looks like a small box With a line on the top and left side and it says something bout this being about deterioted exhaust emmissions in the book. Is this something he should get looked at straight away or will it do till nex service (easter) Poor ***** is a bit paranoid as timing belt went in his has motor, alfa 147, before the summer.

Any info appreciated

For my money it's a lambda sensor.

Not sure how expensive they are but there will be one screwed into the manifold before the cat and one after.

I would check these first.

Yes as above "lambda sensor" and maybe the cat. Worth a Battery disconnect first to see if it resets it.
