Hi

I have a GS300 (2000), which I presume has the same engine as yours. I have regularly used fully synthetic oil (Mobil 1 - 0w-40) and have not encountered any problems.

In relation to your MPG 'meter' you may wish to reset the ECU. You can do this by taking the leads off your Battery for 10 mins and then reconnecting them. This will reset the ECU an MAY resolve you MPG meter. However, you will need the security code before you do this.

If you do alot of town driving, the mileage may be correct, as the 300 engine is very thirsty around town. I can also do 20mpg if i do alot of town driving.

Good Luck

Mohammed
