My friends 96 MK3 LS 400 has a strange very regular problem....every few weeks it starts to cold idle at around 2000 revs and this makes for interesting driving...once warm it idles just a little higher than normal... {he starts the car from cold many times during his working day so this is very annoying for him}...the thing is if he disconnects the Battery something sems to re-set itself and he is back to normal for a few days...the problem must be electronic as the high idle is exactly the same revs every time...disconnect Battery = fixed again and so on ? ...so its not a dirty throttle or anything...any ideas fellas ?.

hmm sounds like a dirty MAF sensor

Go to the club Knowlege base and view the instructions on how to clean.

I have done this and cleaned throttle body and works a treat... also economy was better too.
