According to my dealer, the Samsung D500 will transfer the entire phone book in one go, whereas the Nokia's will only transfer one number at a time.

I'll find out this week when I pick up my 400h.

Keep us posted, because I couldnt get my D500 to transfer anything - there isnt an option as far as I can see.

Having now got my car, it turns out the D500 will apparently only transfer 1 number at a time

You will find that most Lexus dealers will carry a compatible phone that will transfer the whole address book in one go. Just give them your SIM card and they can copy it across for you.

I have a March 2006 RX400h SEL and have having real trouble with my Bluetooth phones. My wife and I have Samsung D900. At first they pair to the car no probs. We have also managed to transfer the phone books. However within a few days they play up.

One of the following happens:

1. When a call comes in the car does not pick it up.

2. The phone disconnect from the car and reconnect at least twice a minute.

3. Does not connect at all on startup.

Is there a fix for these type of probs.

ANy help would be grately appreciated.

I can help a little but not a lot!

I also have a Rx400h and a Samsung D900. The Samsung replaced a motorola which worked perfectly.

On the phone go to Bluetooth and the options for the Hands-free that you have set up. In the options I think at number 5 there is the choice of 'authorise device/ unauthorise device'. Select 'unauthorise device. When you get in the car and switch on the car will contact the phone and the phone will ask you whether or not you want to accept the device. You press yes on the key board. The phone then seems to stay connected.

This is annoying as you have to reconnect your phone each time you get in the car! As both the car and the phone are meant to be state of the art this is not acceptable.

Icidentally the system adds insult to injury by making a loud raspberry noise for 5 seconds before connecting a call from the one touch dial, Anyone else get insulted in the same way. Any other advice on how to make the connection stick will be gratefully received

Kind of defeats the object.

Wifes E-Class has a cradle (no bluetooth) and the car brings a strong signal via an inbuilt aerial. Much better reception but soooo uncool.

if you like to increase signal quality ask your dealer about lexus europes "Bluetooth complementary kit". comes with a cradle and gives you an external antena and charges you handset.

to optimize send and receive quality change settings for send receive level in service menu.

Problem solved

Up loaded address book using the Samsung D900

Took Samsung back to the phone shop and exchanged it for a Sony Ericsson W800i.

The Sony Ericsson works perfectly and auto links to the car everytime without me having to do anything to it.

It shouldn't have had to be this difficult!

P.S. Although the W800i is a less flashy design than the Samsung I think it is a better phone. Seems more intuitive to use.

My Nokia N73 pairs fine and makes calls/answers calls fine in the GS.

HOWEVER, the transfer of the phonebook is like 20% successfull - mainly where I have "complicated" contacts - those with more than 1 phone number...

Anyone else find this? Basically may/may not have some part of the number, then a load of verical bars 020|||||||||

I am having problems getting my Nokia N70 to connect with my year old RX400h. I did not have any problems with my previous Orange C600.

Any suggestions?
