Hi All

I would like your opinion on this accident, this happened to my friends IS 200

Synopsis of Incident:

Accident Date: 30/09/05

Time: 7.15am

Speed: 40-45mph

Other Parties Involvod: No

Personal Injury: Minor

Road Conditions: Normal For Time of Year

Succeded Line of Approach - Failure of N/S/F lower suspension arm caused the accident and subsquential puncture of N/S/F tyre, however Lexus (GB) Ltd maintain that N/S/F tyre puncture caused accident.

Has any one else experienced such a situation?

I dont understand how the blame could be with Lexus GB?

How old were the tyres..i think somewhere there are code markings on them that give the date(rubber does break down eventualy, were they properly inflated to the correct pressures...were they in good condition.

If the side wall was punctured i would assume at some time the car has been driven up kerbs thus weakening them and the puncture may have been the result of this.

Im not apportioning any blame on the driver as these could be factors.

Hope you get it sorted :)

looking at the metal surrounding the fracture, the black anti rust coating /road dirt has "scaled" from the surface of the metal, this usually only happens during a bending process, and not a fracturing process.

id be inclined to agree with LGB on this one, ive never known ...ever...on any car for a cast lower suspension arm to just fracture, the only way ive seen these fracture, or break is from impact...generally from Kurbs, and then at worst they usually just bend.

what did he hit, to put yellow paint on the tyre wall and shunt the front over the way it has
