Car Pc With Touch Screen

How I could build my Altezza with in Car PC on it because I have one buddy studing in the united states at the time been and he told me that I could purchase one of those Car PC's from him in the price of $300.I said to him ok buddy but how I could do that one because my Altezza has not came with a monitor or GPS system build on it so I have to purchase and a touch screen from him too as he told me. :duh: So I have so doubts about it after all. The pc building part is very easy, in fact you can now buy them all ready made in a small box, and can locate that in your boot if you really wanted to.

As for the screen side of things, that's where things change.

Do you have an aftermarket HU, or are you still on the stock HU.

What about the sat nav screen, do you have one of those ?

I'm in the same position. I have a standard headunit and no satnav screen. So I'll have to keep an eye on this thread and see the solution.

From me you would seen it before next summer I supposed so.Until then I see what can I find out from touch screens and e.t.c. and not from the real thing as it called here sat nav screen.All I have to do then is wait for my buddy founds out a solution for me and then I would put this thing in here under contsruction. :D

Try ......... mini-itx.com or search eBay.

The computer would possibly just plug into your screen yes, however it wouldn't be touchscreen for the PC.

You'd have to get something like a lilipit screen ... for the touchscreen side of things to work for that ! :)

My friend had his laptop converted somehow with GPS and satnav installed, I believe with some form of antenna slotted in to get the GPS positioning needed

It was brilliant as the screen was mega size etc

He has gone on travels to aussie land and I forgot to ask him about it, anyone have any ideas ?

I have done this in an astra. basically fitted a touch screen in the dash, relocated the headunit, run the wiring, installed a mini pc in the boot with autoroute 2006 and a external Bluetooth gps reciever.

Basically just a laptop with a PCMCIA GPS card that slots into you lappy, Easiset solution but where do you keep the laptop so you can view it easily. On your passenger seat??
