As is customary in these matters, my first post is a 'Hello' type one.

So with no further ado, Hi. :D

Lexus Woodford should be delivering my new Cadoxton Slate IS220D SE with black leather, on Monday. And I can't wait. \o/ Oh, and it's got the Mark Levinson system too.

I took one out for a days test drive and I've got to say, it was just fantastic, but I suppose you lot already know that, or you wouldn't be here.

I didn't even make it to the BMW garage, would never consider a Merc and when I visited Southend Lexus, just fell in love with it. And as a bonus, they're like rocking horse ***** too, I've spotted 2 in the last 3 weeks, that's it.

Brief car history run down to follow....

1989 - 1990 Ford Escort MkII 1300GL, swiftly made into a lowered, 1600 Ghia w/RS suspension, RS 4-spokes etc

1990 - 1994 Vauxhall Astra MkII GTE 1800 5dr

1994 - 1995 New Vauxhall Corsa CDX (this was a huge mistake, regretted it ever since.

1995 - 2000 Honda Prelude 2.3 Manual - awesome machine, loved it

2000 - 2003 Audi A4 2.6 SE

2003 - 2006 Honda ATR, bloody awesome drive

2006 - present Jaguar XJR

Monday - TBA Lexus IS220D SE w00t!

Here endeth my first post, nice to meet y'all..

Thanks all

welcome..

just curious, why the switch from a 5 second 370bhp Jag to a diesel Lex? :D

Yeah, don't get me wrong, the Jag's performance is astounding, it eats just about everything for breakfast, but I need to cut down my expenses. :crybaby:

I average 15mpg in it, so by selling it and having convinced my boss to not only purchase, but let me choose, a company car, I'm much better off.

Things I'll miss about the Jag : Effortless cruising. Out accelerating Supra TT's and everything less than. The fact it's so bloody huge and horrible to the environment, yet you can barely get back seat passengers in and the boot's so small, it's more like a glove box behind the rear window. The pure 'waftiness' about it. Comfort.

Things I wont miss about the Jag : Auto box. Economy. (what economy?!?) Handling, fast it is, maneuverable it ain't.

Things I'm looking forward to in the IS : The styling. Handling. The economy. (Derv supplied by work \o/ ) The stereo. The styling. Manual 'box. The gadgets. The styling. * I may have mentioned styling more than once, but damn! she purty.

In all honesty, I've wanted an XJR for ages, but I've been there and done it now, and I don't feel old enough to drive it. :D My ATR was the dogs nuts, loved that car.
