Lexus Is 250 Manual Congestion Charge Shock

Recommended Posts

The announcement by the Mayor of London that all vehicles with a Co2 footprint of 250 and above will pay £25 a day to enter the zone, caused me to check the Co2 rate for the IS250 Auto I have just ordered. Relief all round as figure given by Lexus and DVLA is 214. Upon checking for the manual version I was shocked to see a figure of 231, bringing in to the £25 banding. Anyone care to check my figures and report back?

Yep it seems the plan is for band G vehicles to have a £25/day charge......although I think you meant those greater than 225g/cm3 than 250.......and yes that would put the IS250 manual into that bracket if its CO2 figure is 231

It's all just taking the pi$$ now if you ask me, since when has emissions got anything to do with congestion? I thought the increased road tax was supposed to penalise you for having a nice car - have they now decided that the amount of times we are taxed for our vehicles is not enough so we need another?

I'm really starting to think that leaving this country would be the first step in the right direction........

Unless you drive a Hybrid...when it does not matter a jot, even if it has a 3.3 litre v6 and in traffic the Battery is flat any your guzzling petrol and killing squirrels. Anyone know what will happen to the RX400h and GS450h under the new plans - are they still expempt? If they are, most Beemers will get swoppoed for a Lexus...
