Hi

I have just joined the lexus owners club after purchasing my second IS 200 I pick it up on Thursday can't ait to get behind the wheel of a real car again :D I am new to this game as last time I never joined anyway looking for info on lost keys I have brought the car with only a sub key the car was a repo I am looking for someone to reprogramme the ecu to accept a new master key can anyone help?

Not sure if it can be reprogrammed mate, if you've not already got an existing master it's an expensive job I think.

I know it's wrong, but it would be easier to report the keys as lost to insurance as they'll cover the cost of new barrels and everything you need!!!

Hi mate thanks I have thought about the insurance thing but its loosing my ncb that worries me my insurance is £1000 a year already! I have spoken too a few lock smiths but they want 500+ to do the job they say they have done it before?

Oh right, not sure to be fair, guess they're finding all the ways to mess around with the IS nowadays, it used to be difficult to clock them but I know people who say it's easy - scares me what can be done!

May be worth asking the dealer if there are any other options?

Just thought I'd let you know I have booked the car in next week wednesday the chap sonds like he knows what he is talking about. £430 inc one master key (gen lexus) It's a bit better than £2000 from lex Notm. I'll let you know how it goes! Fingers crossed!!!

you can then get your sub key to work with it again by using the master key, he will hopefully do this for you, if not post here again. you can get the master to work with the barrels by using the sub key, there cut the same, its just the master is 1mm thinner.
