Anybody able to advise me on cam-belt replacement on my GS300?

The service history for my 97 Mk1 shows it replaced at 53,000 two years ago.

The car has since clocked another 50,000 since then (and prior to me buying it.)

Is 50,000 about 'that time' or was this just a precautionary tactic pior to clogging bin-loads of miles on it?

Cheers,

Steve J.

Thanks guys.

I've seen the sticker, which matches the service book as 53,000 in May 2001. I'm just getting a bit tetchy with it clocking another 50,000 again in the 2 years.

Just read your e-mail Paul, thanks for that. I'll probably speak to you about that again and might have a crack at that myself (pendind a few tips!)

Cheers,

Steve J.

Sorry but cam belts are not changed at 60k on series one GS's, they are changed at 63k as services are a 9k intervals.

So it was changed early at 50k, so next change would be 50k + 63k= 113k
