Not impressed. Stopped for shopping in a parking bay, left the wife and kinds in it as I popped into the shop and guess what

A superstar reverses his people carrier into the back of the car. Towbar hit the bumper and made a small mark in it, about 50 pence piece in diameter. Guy was apologetic etc. He doesn't want to go through the insurance company and wants to pay for it. :tsktsk:

So i'm wondering what to do. If I claim on the insurance I'll have something on the records for the next 500 years. Or get someone like Chipsaway to sort it out and get him to pay for it ?

What do you guys think ?

go and get a couple of quotes from accident repair centers, say its a private job and not throught the insurance, they should give you a quote. (repairers prefer non insurance jobs as the insurance co's are an a**e to deal with) get the cash then get it done by them or you could get chips away to do it as their genrally cheaper but their repairs can be quite pants, like everything, it depends who you get and wether he is compitent or not.

Go to local lexus dealership and get quote(may be an expensive one )they do non insurance repairs)then get some other quotes.it depends on what you want.I've just had a scratch repaired on my boot that some little scrot decided to do with a key. :tsktsk: more expensive than chips away but perfect match. had a job done by chips away on my old is200 and not that impressed.cheap though so you get what you pay for really.(well what the other party is hopefully going to pay for!)
