The car is still immaculate. 2 more P21s applications only since june. It's amazing stuff and it repels water like a duck!

Other people on here do swear by other things, harley wax, Maguires etc - it's all the sme stuff really. The differences are soooo small, unless you can afford Souveran by Pinnacle, or one of those £4k tubs...

i use Auto glyms ultra deep shine, it seems to be really good and a bit cheaper than the maguires etc. Does stick in the chips though but i just dont do my front bumper anyway so its all good.

When i first used it i was plesently surprised, goin to try somethin else after this tubs gone though. Although last time i gave it a t-cut then a polish up the next day and it was gleaming!

Used to used better stuff but i have to park it on the main road and with buses etc goin past all the time and a building site accross the road its a constant battle lol.

i take it your front bumper is like mine and either laden with flies or nicks on it, shame i wasnt told about this by the dealer or i would have gotten it some protection when i bought it

The real benefit of P21s (used sparingly) and the Carlack (aka Klasse)) stuff is that it does not show up on chips - it is clear stuff (or near as damn it).

You do need good Microfibres though, they reall take the effort out.

i have been using carnauba gold on mine, its had about 4 coats since i got it and it looks great.

should i be using something else before or after i have applied it?

A new car prepared by the dealer is likely to have been polished (rarely waxed too). You can get very anoraky about these things...

The ideal situation would have been to apply a sealant glaze first then carnauba. However, summer is only around the corner!! It'll probably be fine until the weather warms up, then you'll be croaking to get out and give her a good fettle

I'd recommend a cleaner polish (something to remove all of the wax, previous polish etc - something like Carlack68 AIO system care), then a couple of coats of a good acrylix wax/sealant glaze (Carlack68 Long Life Acrylic wax), and a few coats of carnauba. The AIO is a Cleaner, Polish and Sealant glaze in one, but adding some extra glaze after only protects it further. The more coats of glaze you add the better, but apply it thin each time and let it cure properly!

The Carlack stuff is sold as "Klasse AIO" and Klasse Selant Glaze" in other markets, but is essentially the same.

One point I always make is that you really want something non abrasive - and that's where Carlack comes out on top. All of the cleaning agents in Carlack68 AIO are chemical only.

Pinnacle Souveran all the time. I bought two tubs @$55 a pot 3 years ago and only just finished the first one. This stuff is absolutely the best!

The choice is amazing, and like I said before, they are all pretty much the same really, and Mikes suggestion of the Souveran is probably the best one - with the £ so strong over the $ it makes sense to get some of that - might just order some...

Maquires stuff is good, and easily available from Halfords now (which is why I won't buy any :o)

PS - your other question "how often do you wax..." answer is as soon as it get's stubbly, and for the car once every 2 washes
