Hi, Has Anybody Rewired Their Car To Fit A Stereo?

Hi to all!!!

I have started to wire up an after market stereo, but after taking out the orgional stereo i was confused with all the wires!!!

I bought a multi meter to test which wire was live, ignition and earth so i can power my new stereo up, but after connecting all the wires and the sub the stereo started to flicker and not work!!

Has any body out there re wired their is200 to get an after market stereo in, can you please help me here!!!!!

either you wired something wrong or else the acc and live are reversed. on the HU side of things the red and yellow cables should be the 2 main power ones. U should be able to disconnect these half way down the wire. Try connecting red to yellow and yellow to red. I had that problem where u press the power button and power would come on for a sec the go off. is this whats happening to you? If its not that try a different earth/grounding point for the HU. PM me if ur confused, some people are getting annoyed with ur noob posts(not me!)

By rewire I take it you mean, wire all new speakers with new cabling and connectors. Which is pretty straight forward to do as you'd run all the wires to a new ISO connector, picking up a live and earth from the Battery and ignition from the old connector.

If you were keeping the OEM speakers then there is a lead available on eBay, as mentioned before, that bypasses the amp (if you have an SE or Sport model). If you have a standard S model then Autoleads do an ISO convertor.
