I have to say 'quite right too'. Flashing red lights just don't stand out...

our British regulations are a bit of overkill to be honest, flashing amber lights all over the place and massive number plates that spoil the car's appearance imho

cars do look much better when they don't have number plates

but i think i can get away with out doing to much work as all i will do is paint the revrese lights amber and cut the wires and done then i just have to work out about revrese lights

No need to paint surely - can't you put amber bulbs in?

Reverse lights are more straightfoward, just get a small white accessory light and bolt it under the bumper like and old-school fog light. I'm not sure you actually need one by law - and if the original reverse ones are now indicators, you'd probably get past the law requiring equipment fitted to actually work... ;)
