im just wondering about the A final drive system . i know it reduces the top speed and increases the acceleration speed but by how much ?

im mainly looking for the info about how well it runs in the altezza . google is showing nothing usefull

even if there is only a theory on how the device works .

altezza 0-60 time is about 8.5 seconds i think so in what way would this be reduced

Hi,

Altezza stats....

Manual 0-60= 7.2 sec

Auto 0-60= 8.0 sec

granted japan figures on proper petrol...

Have a look here for goodies... and lots of diagrams to explain what the benefits are!!! ;)

Goooooo faster bits.....!

So if someone with a manual fitted close ratio gears and a final drive and they had a quick change plus a lightened flywheel and an uprated clutch.... then they would surely be a lot poorer.... sorry quicker :D

From looking at the charts and from other sources i have concluded that there was slightly more than just a cosmetic change in may 2001,

seems the final drive before this was 4.1 but after may 2001 it was changed to 4.3...

so the WPC final gear set with a ratio of 4.556 would have a more noticeable effect on the pre-5/01 cars...

@Markrs200 (if your reading this at some stage) would this explain why your 2002 altezza is faster than others or are you certain there was an aftermarket final drive fitted?

do these have probloms when placed into turbo'd altezza's ?

If you are definitely Turbo-ing your Tezza then you should not get a final drive of 4.5 as you would be flying through the gears .... it would make more sense for you to try and source a lower ratio final drive like in the IS300 (3.5-ish) so that you can stay in gear ( and boost) longer.....just my humble opinion , correct me if i'm wrong
