Timing Belt 1 Tooth Out?

Help!

When I purchased my is200s, I got the garage to change the timing belt (96000 miles), but on my drive home approx 20 miles later the engine warning light came on. It seems to be running OK and the garage said it was the cam sensor needed changing - code P1346 bank 1 vvt. They have now changed it but the light has come on again with the same code.

After searching the forums, it seems that the timing belt looks like it could be 1 tooth out, but my question is:

Would the car seem to run OK if just one of the cam pullys was 1 tooth out? If it would, then I need to tell the garage what to do as it is looking that they are a little incompetent.

The reason I'm not going to lexus yet is that I got 2 yrs warranty and am loath to part with my money when the garage should pay!

Any help and info will be much appreciated.

Thanks

Well, the car went to Lexus Hull and they confirmed that there was a new genuine Lexus Belt and new pulleys, and low and behold, the belt was one tooth out! Weird because the car seemed to run OK. Saying that though, it runs a lot better now!

Problem solved.

I have got to say of all the car forums I have been on, this seems to be the most active with the most helpful people. Thanks everyone.
