Diff Change

In need of help

I have recently had my 200 S mot"d and when i check"D the diff there was a lot of play from the inner cv to the diff,normally with other cars with a similar rear end set up the cv"s only rotate and do not move about,there is a noise/whine but this is hard to place , comming from front or back. if the diff is shot,is it possible for someone competant with the old spanners to change the diff unit for another thats in better condition,are there any special tools e.g. pullers etc needed to do the job

Not sure if its the same issue, but CIJ posted recently about changing the differential. If you do a quick search, you'll find it no doubt.
