Hi I have a interview at college could some explain to me in simple terms what does case law mean and what does judicial precedent mean please. if it goes well am hoping to start a part time course doing llb (hons) law as you prob worked out by now am starting from scratch and have to impress the the person interviewing me becouse i have no formal qualifications and would realy like to do something worthwhile

Well, learning to use Google would be a start :winky:

Judicial precedent is basically the idea that a court's decision in one case can be used to determine what the law should be in subsequent similar cases. See http://legal-directory.net/english-law/jud...nt-case-law.htm The two are quite closely linked...

Best of luck with the interview mate. Just be yourself - and don't get in a fret about your lack of formal qualifications; they will know this already and yet they still want to see you - this should tell you something! Unless, of course, you've been telling fibs that is!!

LLB is a heavyweight qualification - just how long is this course going to last??

Hi tryed google!! but nothing was sinking in been writing a brief summary from a case extract thay sent me it said 300 words max i finshed it in around 105 do you think i should add some more words to it! or leave it iv covered everything in 105 words!

4 years part time 2 evenings a week plus summer school in final year!!

i have a lot of experiance with the law mainly on the wrongside :winky:
