you don't state the age of vehicle. If it's a series II (1998+) then the ATF doesn't need changing as long as it remains a nice light red colour. Just a well because AFT is hard to change as just draining the pan will only remove about 30% and the Toyota ATF T-IV fluid (which you really must use) is very expensive in this country. Having said all that changing it at 100k miles wouldn't hurt.

Rear diff oil should be checked every 20k miles. Probably worth changing every 60-100k miles.

Thanks Colin,

Its a MKII with a 120k. I think I will change the diff oil and the auto oil. Apparently, lexus only sell 5 litres at a cost of £45.00. :o But I don't want to take any chances.

I did hear though from a mechanic that you should change the transmission oil every 25k, is that correct???

Nah, not really. To have to change the transmission fluid at 25k you'd have to be driving it like you've nicked it everytime you get behind the wheel.

Coincidentally, with that kind of driving you'd also have to change your engine oil about every 1k.
