Is200 Spark Plugs Again.. Leads This Time?

Recommended Posts

Hi all, before you say the obvious, Yes I have gone through the search engine and yes I know I can buy it off eBay (US) guy. :D

My question if which ones to use in combination with the LPG system? Having one would it be classed has a mod and thus requiring the other (sorry do not remember the type) rather than the standard SK20r11?

Any good recommendations for the sparkplug Leads and from whom please? I might replace them too.

Main problem I’m trying to cure is miss-fire from time to time & sometime the LPG system does not trip over and stall the car when I am accelerating to 3k rpm’s. :tsktsk: :tsktsk: I think these are linked to the sparkplug or leads. Hooked it up to diagnosis and nothing showed up. Only when he pulled it off the ramp that he noticed the misfire and came up with the theory that that’s what’s causing the prob. :winky:

Any guidance greatly appreciated. :D :D

Ps my Lexus is and SE Is200 – 99.

take the airfilter assy off and underneath are the coil packs, they are held with a 10mm bolt - u will need a long extension to reach the plugs.

could be a coilpack that is breaking down or a sparkplug - u get them on eBay quite cheap!

PM Chris.S on here.... but first be sure it is a faulty coil pack, better to get professional advice than to be changing parts that might be fine....

Cheers Noel, I will pm Chris.S and see what price he can give me.

How do i go about checking which coil pack is faulty if it is at all the fault please?

I had it hooked up to a Diagnostics pc (under dash plug) and nothing was listed. The pc read the car and no errors were reported :tsktsk: he also tried it under bonnet and the pc did not read anything at all (luckily he did not charge the £40) :D They are an Auto Electrical Specialist with Skylines and Evo's hooked up for re-mapping, etc.. so they are not a cowboy outfit. :duh:

What the best way to test this out please besides going to the Stealers? :tomato:

Ordered the Spark Plugs from the US guy off eBay and he's shipped them today. I am replacing them first to see if it makes any diff. I miht clean up the Coil packs at the same time but not sure how too WD40?

Great advise so far please keep it coming.

Intermittent problems are notoriously hard to diagnose. The Tech needs to see the problem for himself in order for it to be traced and repaired correctly. Otherwise is a case of shooting in the dark and going for the most likely causes. The smaller guys too wont want this hassle as hours spent diagnosing are not very profitable.
