Ipod Video Question

Hi all

Can anyone tell me if I replace my current 8Gb Ipod with a a 40Gb or 5th generation 30Gb video Ipod will I be able to put my DVD Video albums which have been bought and not downloaded on either of these?

I have tried to put the sound recordings of the DVD albums on my 8Gb Ipod but it is not possible, is this just because the 8Gb is not a video Ipod?

Are the video Ipod's just able to take downloaded videos and not normal purchased DVD's?

Any help/advice would be great.

It's certainly possible to "rip" DVD's and put on the video ipods, but you will need to download some tools and stuff. Personally I don't use iTunes or anything like that and I suspect it won't be possible using iTunes or "official" software as essentially bought DVDs are encypted and you need slightly hookie tools to decrypt and rip the bought DVD and convert to a format so the iPod can display it.

What do you use? apple or PC?

Handbrake is an excellent program, as is iSquint.

DVD Ripper is good for PC.
