Mk1 Lexus Gs300 Aerial Trouble

Recommended Posts

OK so today i turn on my car and notice the aerial was already up.

I turned the engine of and the aerial wouldnt go down, and it made a horrible grining noise.

When I got home I unscrewed the aerial nut and the aerial came out. At the end there is a plastic cord.

How do i get the system to accept the aerial back in?

any ideas??

:offtopic: The red ! came on today. The turned the engine off and back on and it was gone. What does the ! mean??

i think you are talking about the rear light warning signal ,this also comes on when brake fluid is low .

i dont know if this will help.

i had similar problem with my gs300, 93 reg. the plastic cable had slipped out of the motor so i had to reinsert it but this is a common fault.

Regarding your antenna-troubles...youre gonna have to buy a new antenna-shaft that has a complete "plastic cord" :) The grinding noise youve heard is most likely the antenna-motor not being able to grap the cord...cause its broken...
