Best Engine To Tune?

I been thinking over weekend, i was gonna get a S/C but aint got the reddys to get the great deal so my m8 who works for the Mitsi rally team and builds all his own Gearboxes and diffs etc said why dont you get another engine and build that and swap and change it at your leisure??

Is the 1g-fe gonna be the easiest to buy option?? Getting the turbos etc aint gonna be an issue and the the tech knowledge is sorted, TBH my m8 has tons of stuff i can have for freebies :) and all the labour and tools cranes lifts etc will be free too.

So IG-FE ??

looking at about 280 bhp if poss with standard internals

dont think you will hit 280 mate with standard internals

250 260 may be safe do a search on the 1g-fe has loads of covering on it

You wont get 280 bhp with standard internals. I was running around 260 - 270 when my engine blew because of the very weak and thin conrods.

Why not put a 2JZ-GTE in there?

Want to be able to swap back to standard when i want to sell m8(thats the thinking anyways)

Going to have to do internals then if you want some decent power out of it.
