I've just phoned Lexus Hatfield and they quoted me £130.00 for a 10k mile service.

Currently:

Lexus Hadleigh: £168

Lexus Hatfield : £130

ok a breakdown of my 30K service:

oil gtx magnatec - £25

sundries/top ups etc £4.63

oil filter - £7.39

air filter- £16.01

drain plug gasket£0.76

labour- £41.10

total 94.89 + vat £111.50 all in

The thing here is obviously the front discs - relatively expensive part and a fair bit of labour too.

I'd be worried if I needed new discs at 40k, although I s'pose they take more of a hammering on an auto.

No, I don't live on a hill, in fact where I live in Essex there aren't many hills around! Mine is a manual. Even without the discs it was still over £500 for the 40K service.

If you live in Essex which Lexus dealer do you go to? Also, what did your 10k mile service cost?

Lexus Woodford, I have always found them very helpful and efficient. They always lend me a car even when they are just investigating a problem (twice a RX300).

I had the 10K service at Lexus Hatfield and from memory it was just over £100. I wasn't impressed with Hatfield at all particularly the way they dealt with problems I had when the car was new so I stopped using them.

Aah, sorry, I was thinking of Javaboss's post (that one's an auto).

Surely a big chunk of the labour cost was for fitting the discs/pads though ?

I've had to put my service pricing crusade on hold for now!

My wife drove to Crufts at the Birmingham NEC yesterday. It was a very windy day and some stupid woman parked up next to her and prompty put a VERY large dent in my car's passenger door when she opened her car door. The wind must have caught her door.

The police got involved when the woman refused to hand over her name and address. So, to cut a long story short - my car is off to Lexus Hadleigh on Wednesday to get a report done for my insurance company.

Hopefully, I'll get it fixed without any hassle!
