2k-4k Rpm Noise From Engine/gearbox Area?

has any1 experienced a rattling/grinding noise from engine/gearbox area while driving along at around 3k rpm noticeably in 2nd 3rd 4th gears. cant hear it on the motorway tho?

it sounds like a heat shield, but the gearbox kina scares me! :duh:

Don't know if it's the same, but I seem to get a slight "vibration" sound, which seems to come from the underside of the car.

It sounds like a tray or cover that is slighty loose.

I tend to get this when I'm in say 2nd or 3rd and I'm building up the revs in the low range and then disappears when the revs are not low and vibration is then minimal.

Nope, totaly normal in most 6speeds.

Called the 3000rpm Rumble.

Happens on some stock cars, and even more obvious when you change the clutch and flywheel.

Just another characteristic along with the 'Idle Chatter'
