I took my LS400 down to Janspeed Salisbury last Saturday and had it put on their rolling road. It has done 113K miles and is an auto.

209 bhp and 200 ft lbs.

Derry.

PS the guy running the test said it was the quietest car he had ever had on the rollers and by far the nosiest thing was the air blower they used for cooling. At the back end all you could hear were the tyres on the rollers.

Is the book figure at flywheel or at wheels?

209 is 13% down on book figure of 240. is the torque figure low by the same percentage? don't remember what book torque is?

Anyone else had theit LS on the rollers, we could predict power loss against mileage if we have a few.

still not bad for a car with 113K on the clock.

I had my Ka on the rollers and it was at 49hp, book says 59, thats 17% down and it was only 18months old with 20K on the clock.

made 102 after I fitted the turbo though :winky:

Just wondered, does anyone know how they calculate power back to the flywheel? Do they estimate losses through transmission etc?

Not sure how accurate a quote would be at flywheel.

thx

p.s Do you have a dynochart you could post up as would be interesting to see the curves. I used to own a remapped Golf 1.8T and that had 195bhp and 210 ft lb of torque, so pretty similar figures, but the curves must be totally different.

I tried to do same with my 1990 LS400 but 2 companies said the car was too old for their diagnostics & didn't want to know.

Guess there's a threshold for these guys?
