Wing Mirror IS200

Recommended Posts

I had the misfortune of driving down the A1 (UK), and have a branch snap off a tree and shatter my windscreen and break the back casing on the drivers side wing mirror. Somehow managed to keep control of the car, was very lucky!

I have taken the car to the dealer and they advise that I need a whole new wing mirror, :( its only part of the rear case that is broken and looks like it could easily be replaced without replacing the whole unit.

Anyone know if this is true, if so, do you where I could get the part from? The dealer advised that Lexus only sell the whole unit.

Thanks in advance

Ian

If it is only the painted part, it can be removed and it's your lucky day as I have one.

If it is any other piece it is a complete unit and you will have to replace it all.

What your dealer say's is true, but don't pay there prices.

I went to www.japparts.co.uk I got a complete mirror in the right colour for £100. Unfortunately their site seems to be down at the moment though.

Try http://www.mitchelldismantling.co.uk/index.htm see if they can help.

Yes the back cover can be replaced,I changed mine last month because I scratched on the garage wall

Its just a matter of unclipping the mirror glass

and taking out 3 screws

there is a clip in the bottom corner, just pull and it will come of,dont worry if it breaks and then just replace in reverse

Yes it can be ordered from a lexus dealer because I already have

They are already painted and cost about £21.00+VAT

Best Wishes

Chris
