Silver Door Switchplates

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I want a set of Silver switchplates for all 4 doors. Currently in my IS300 2001 they are woodgrain finish (HATE WOOD), i believe the 2004 models and above came with Silver.

In the USA they are available

However, these are for left hand drive cars, sadly the switches are different in our LHD cars in AUS/NZ.

I've looked endlessly for JDM sources for parts in Japan...no such luck.

Anyone got any other suggestions?

remove them from the doors, strip them down (take out switches...a few screws)

and paint them ;)

not sure this is possible the plates in my car are slightly different to the later model plates. Mine have black plastic cups under the switches where as the newer ones are completely moulded. This forum doesnt allow image attachments so i can't explain it further.

there will be a way of removing the switches from the plate.....

my car is also a 2001 model, ive had 2x 2000 models and a 2003 model, and all switches can be removed

regards posting pictures, upload them to something like photobucket and link from there

The wood grain is NOT a stick on.

As Mat says just remove the switches from the plates and get them plastic primered then painted to a silver finish. Thats how mine were done.

Before..Pic and after pics
