Have you tried changing the auto transmission oil to see if that helps at all?

No, I have tried nothing at this point. :blush: I thought perhaps the clutches (or whatever) might typically start to go in a car of this age.

I will try change that and see what happens. Thanks

Thanks for your recommendaition on changing the transmission fluid.

While it might sound idiotic I would not have considered that it might have been an issue. i assumed the servicing would have taken care of such things. (and my mechanic came highly recommended). Car has been runnign sweetly since and whether or not it is my imagination it also appears to have improved the fuel economy. No more jerking into lower gear under hard acceleration, just smooth ride all the way.

Winning all round. :hehe:
