3s-ge And An Is200gearbox

Hi im new to the site!

ive been looking at alot of threds on this sight but i cant find a definitive answer as to is the standard is200 gearbox fits the 3s-ge.

i know the bell house is different.

i know i will have to reset and cut the gear leaver hole

so i have a few questions?

1) is the is200 standard gearbox a 2 piece gearbox with a removable bell house?

2) can i just bolt a 3s-gte bell house to a is200 gearbox and strap that to a 3s-ge?

3) what other problems will arise?

the gearbox,s are identicle

the bell housing need changing because the starter motor hole is on the wrong side for the 3s-ge

the possition of the gearlever can be adjusted by mounting on the different mounting lugs located on the nose of the gearbox

the 3s-ge was never fitted to any UK rwd cars, only the import altezza

sounds a bit silly but s3ge engine with is200 box in a Ford Escort Mk1!

your best bet would be to source as altezza engine and gearbox,

but otherwise yes, 3sge bellhousing from toyota altezza(japanese is200) and a UK gearbox, however if you can find an altezza gearbox first off this will be better
