Hey guys.

I value your opinion (again!). I am looking to fit a new ICE system to my 2005 IS200. I'm thinking double DIN screen and navigation - I'm not a huge fan of the motorised screens I must be honest. Have people got any pics they can let me see of their installs and offer any inspiration on which products to buy. £1000 is the budget I'm working to. Suggestions, comments and pictures willingly received!

Are you going to be using the standard speakers?

Either way, you'll need a head unit adapter lead to enable you to plug a standard ISO connector into the existing wiring loom:

eBay: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Lexus-is200-se-sport...1QQcmdZViewItem

(The flipping price has gone down - I paid £50 for this a month ago!)

And a fascia adapter to let your fit the head unit:

eBay: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Lexus-IS200-Car-Ster...1QQcmdZViewItem

That's for starters, will get the head unit talking to the standard speakers.

Cheers matey. Ben from Bass Junkies recommends that one, said it's the best kit for that price on the market. I'll pm you as soon as I get funds lol!

Not overpriced at all.. in fact they are cheaper on this unit than most other retailers.. granted there are spme cheaper places but as you said they give good advice and there customer service is excellent.

would recommend goin there as they will def look after you and will be able to sort you out later down the line should you decide to add to your system..

i have bought all my stuff from there and always get taken care of, even spending time to tune it all up

after i installed it all myself!

Must have had different experiences, as yes, their advice is valuable, however, I found their prices to be a joke when looking at some audio equipment. This was last year and things may have changed, but even at the car shows on their stands, they put some ICE on for "show price offer" - which then brought the costs down to nearly every other ICE retailer :)

I'll stand corrected on this one. Bass Junkies are cheaper (by a considerable margin too) than their competitors on some of the stuff. Like Jamie my last experience of Bass Junkies was a while ago - I think it was 2003 or something like that and back then their prices were laughable. It appears they have become competitive now. I was wrong.

Well, as long as they're cheaper! I never remain faithful to a retailer - if someone can offer me a product for a cheaper price then I will use them.... simple as lol :)

Good luck,

Jamie

i would always recomened stayin faithfull!! :winky:

if you build a relationship with the retailer, then you will always get better advice, better service and better prices!!!

i have a specialist retailer in all of my vices.. namely ice, games and home hifi! always get the best deal off em all the time.. just need top find one for lexus goodies!!

:)

I tend to find a combination of the two works quite well. I find somewhere local and develop a nice little relationship with them and when I want a new product I shop around and the cheapest price I find I go to my local place and ask them to match or beat my best price from elsewhere. In my experience, I've rarely been refused. Once I even made up a stupidly low price and they did it it for that. I think the lesson we can learn here kids is that staying faithful is good, but people will work harder when they know there's competition! :winky:
