Hi Guys,

I'm thinking to buy Prolex's used Torsen diff for my IS200

I chose it because the car is alredy original and my work is in the direction of the weight reduction more of the power improvement, so I think this kind of diff is sufficient.

What do you think aout it? Someone have purchased and installed it? How does it work?

Thanks a lot!

Anto

It is a problem for the cost or for the logistic? Because if is it a problem of costs we can talk about it, if it is a problem of logistic I could organize myself the shipping...

In Italy i can't find this stuff, so I MUST have from you.... Please!

my carrier, parcelforce, returned the item when i tried to send it to Finland 3 months ago.

if you try to find a carrier i can deduct the shipping cost from the item. meanwhile I'll ask some others :winky:

I knew those problems: I sell carbon fiber parts, so this embrassing problems happened to me too...

We can do it this way: add at the cost of the diff all the other costs for taxes, spedition, your parcel, ecc ecc. You can give me the total cost by pm if you prefer. I'll pay you the stuff and ol the other costs by paypal before you send me the diff, so you are certan of getting your money. It can work in this way for you? (I hope you anderstand my bad english...)

If you want a brand new torsen diff but not the expensive original OEM you have an alternative torsen too much more cheap (about 400 USD).

The rear differential of the IS200 It's a F series, 7.5" ring size, like a front diff LandCruiser 90, and Detroit Locker make a Truetrac 911A342, a torsen diff.

What's the ratio of that differential? It depends on its origin, it's from altezza has ratio 4,100, it's from European IS200 has ratio 3,909 (LSD type).

I said to you that it interested one to me.

Are there any advantages to either LSD or is there a weight difference?

4.100:1 is for Lexus IS200/ Altezza AS200 with automatic transmission, and never an LSD afaik

3,909:1 is for Lexus IS200/ Altezza AS200/RS200 with manual Aisin AZ-6 Gearbox.

Info that i have gathered relating to

RS200 Altezzas ...

1998 to 05-2001, Manual & Auto final drive have a ratio of 4.1

05-2001 to 2005, Manuals were changed to 4.3 , whereas no change for the Auto's

Torsion LSD standard on Manuals, option on the Tiptronic auto's

From pics I've seen the diff's for a IS200 are different and are not a straight swap....

i did alot of research on the differentail units.

the units are identical inside, the European unit has cooling fins cast into the underneath of the unit.

the auto HAS a different ratio to the manual
