im running a turbo on my tezza its mapped with a hks f-con if i reset the ecu which by taking the efi fuse and that other fuse out for 30 seconds will it set the hks f-con to a standard altezza base map???

As far as i know the base map wont be an altezza one it will be a base HKS one which is supposed to do you until you can get to someone that can map it

99.9% sure you will need to go to a powerwriter to get them to clear the existing map for you

if its a jap market ecu, i think there locked

So the japanese HKS powerwriter software is different from ours ?

Cant see it myself....why add an unnecessary extra cost to a product.

Dont consider myself an authority BTW just seems illogical.

Best thing is to take it to a UK powerwriter to find out for yourself

I think the main point about some of the older FCON's not being able to be remapped in the UK is due to the lack of software and dongle keys. We can do most of the FCON models.

Provided that the above are available, it is possible to unlock them (without the security code) but it clears the previously stored calibration data.

To answer the original question - pulling the fuse will not compromise the stored data :)
