Speedo Sensor

Not too sure about the location but I can back you up that this is the probable cause of dipping speedo needles. Commonly occurs when the speed sensor has disintegrated or become broken up inside.

Thanks for replying, not having much luck finding it info is very scarce and Lexus themselves are not forth coming with info.

I thought it would be on the transmission, but if it is it is well hidden

I've just checked the details on the speed sensor.

If there is a malfunction with the sensor itself (fault code: P0500/42) it can be caused by trouble in the following areas:

Open or short in vehicle speed sensor circuit

Transmission output speed sensor

Engine ECU

Apparently, it is located on the transmission.

Hope this helps?

J

Hi there, I have searched there and there seems to be nothing apart fron the sensor for the gearbox pressure.

Do you think maybe it is only accessible from the inside removing the centre console

Any help would be much appreciated
