I've seen them time and time and time again and there's always the temptation to "give it a go". There's obviously many of you guys here who've modded your motors and frown on these, especially when turbo kits etc should be the "real" way forward, however - for those of us wanting a little boost, what are your opinions of devices like this ?

Please, be gentle... ! :)

It sounds like it will do the same job as this:

It's not called fleabay for nothing!

but as the guy in this listing says, 'it's the same thing just with an extra £10 slapped on the price tag all for 'a box with 2 wire's sticking out of it.'

I know someone who baught one for his saxo, it arrived, he showed me it, and i went to Maplins and bought one for around 30p same resistance too (the coloured bands round the resister matched). He was :tsktsk: to say the least. But lesson learnt, he doesnt buy off there any more.

I echo what everyone says.....these bhp mod chips don't work.

Think about it, Lexus/or any other car maker have invested millions of £££/$$$ in developing their engines, in terms of performance, reliability etc, is a cheap bit of tat from eBay gonna give you extra bhp?

Answers on a postcard.....

Maybe we can do a group buy on these and get them even cheaper. If I buy 10 of them maybe I can sell all my turbo kit and get the same power anyway. Just think I've wasted all that money on performance mods / turbos / engine upgrades, when all along I could've just fitted some of these bad boys :)

I checked a couple of years back on a "Superchip" for the IS, 5 Bhp for a £350 piece of kit. They don't even do one now. If a respectable company can't get more than that a fleabay £25 one sure won't work.
