Hi,

I like the idea of having my nav in night mode during the night etc, however I would prefer to the have the speed dials at full whack.

Does anyone know if this combination is possible? I tried looking for something in the menus but it isn't obvious.

Cheers

I wanted that combination too, great minds think alike!! Don't think it's possible, as I looked everywhere too.

Can you not set the dial brightness independant of the nav screen?

I have the GS but I would have thought a similar option was on the IS. There are about six different settings for the dials (as well as a manual setting for low and high) and then independant settings for screen brightness/contrast for night/day.

All cars dim their dials when the headlights come on, to reduce strain on the eyes at night - nothing to do with the nav screen.

Even if you leave the screen on day mode (so it's always white), the screen will still dim when it gets dark for the same reason as above

However, if you turn the brightness dial on the Gen 2 IS dash round fully and click it to the end, the auto dim feature no longer activates and the dials stay fully bright at night - note night and not when the lights come on as the auto dim feature (for the Nav screen as well I'm guessing) works independently of the headlight on point as headlights on and dash dimming occur at two different ambient light levels :) Presuming they are on auto of course :whistling:
