Remote Control

How does everyone find the range of their remote control, more specifically on the MK1 GS but maybe all models are the same? Mine drives me nuts, it only seems to work from about a foot away from the car. If I am round the back end of the car it won't work. I'm used to being able to use the remote on the BMW from about 30 yards, is the range on the Lexus one meant to be so pish? The Battery in the fob is new as that was my first thought with the poor range.

Do the trick as seen on Topgear. Hold the remote to your head and press the button, it does work from quite a distance.
