Tinted Windows. Anyone Been Told "too Dark" ?

Thinking about darkening the tint quite a bit....

Anyone heard any bad stories??

Yeah lots bad news if you do the front ones you will attract attention

from Mr Plod. Rears can be as dark as you like.

You will have to remember to inform your insurance company.

When you go for an mot, go in the summer with the lid/windows down :D

Current VOSA regulations stipulate that the tints on the driver and passenger side must still retain a minimum of 70% transparency. Your friendly local constabulary may tell you they are too dark but will need to confirm this with a light meter for it wash. VOSA however do perform regular roadside inspection points or 'funstoppers' as I like to call them, they have everything from light meters to decibel meters ready to check your car :)

I was watching a program the other night, might have been "police, camera, action", not sure. But the police they were out with had the light meter gadget with them that they could stick on either side of the glass to check the tint level. Even watched one guy peeling his tint off to avoid the car being clamped. It certainly looked like they were starting to take it more seriously.

Mmmmm... Me thinks it's high time they actually concentrated on catching criminals !!

believe it or not, but there are people in parts of the country who tint their car windows very dark specifically to prevent others from witnessing their criminal activities inside the car - one of the reasons why they stop cars with heavily tinted windows!
