Well, it's that time of the year. My current company have offered me 10% (wow :whistling: ) off for insuring 2 cars with them. I have been very loyal to them for years and always avoided cheapo quotes in the past - with the view that you could be cutting corners with cover!!

Having had no accidents for years (me and the Missus, touch wood) I know time will come soon...however, 22 years of driving and not ever a claim, I think it's time to start shopping and start chopping the bill...

So - did a Google and got a quote from Admiral....

ALL I CAN SAY IS WOW

Just saved myself £275 for insuring both cars with them for the year...similar policy, legal cover, Incl. Business use and both of us will keep our NCB protected...

Amazing thing is that in the breakdown of costs, the IS will cost £288 to insure, compared with well over £480!!

The Excess is lower on the smaller car (£150) and £100 higher on the Lex (£350), but it seems to good to be true...

Insure both my Lexus IS's with the same broker, but the policies are with different Companies. Similar policy, legal, business use, protected NCB, minimum excess, with declared modifications....£274 for the IS200 Sport, £320 for the IS250 SE-L, including tax.

Admiral are great - UNTIL it's time to make a claim. They will then try every trick in the book to wriggle out of actually paying !!

Just be careful is all I will say - (I'm not going into detail on here but I had to threaten to take them to court before they eventually backed down and coughed up)

The Ed

P.S. - Elephant.co.uk are the same company

We have been with the Admiral Group of companies for Car Insurance for well over 5 years. Greatly competitive quotes and TBH very good service. In that time I've made two (non-fault) claims and both times dealt with very well by the Claims Dept. - easy to get in touch with and communicate with. I know its swings and roundabouts - but I can only report back good experiences.

Unfortunately they weren't competitive this year.

It is horses for courses, and no doubt each company reels you in with a cheap quote only to sting you after a couple of years...I think that's what has happened with my current insurer - they never reward you for loyalty past the full NCB; they only reward new business...so the safer you are, and the longer you stay with a company, the more they charge. I found this with my last 2 insureres...

At the end of the day they are in it for the money...

I'm still shopping around, but it's looks like admiral at the mo! Anyone else got any experience with admiral or any othe companies, good or bd, and anyone with multi car policy experience?
