Amp Bypass Lead Help

Recommended Posts

Got you,

I though the IS200 stero was resonable ?

It is a very good unit, trouble is the ERR3 message is a major problem. It costs about £250+ to get repaired, so this is a cheaper method :)

EDIT: Stav beat me to it again, have to learn to type quicker :)

not just a extension lead

dose it have fuses or anything in it? alos do all 4 your rear speakers work?

anyone tried to wire up an after market system onto the origional amp?

This is how I have wired in a head unit using the existing amp.

Head unit will need front and rear pre-outs though.

Not had any probs. yet and sounds good.

Hello , I own an is 200 and have taken off the original radio with one i have.

I have seen the picture and analyzed how i must connect the wire....but ouch, i did connect them but that crazy amplifiermakes a noise......like A COW.

even if i don't turn on the new radio.

And by the way, where can i find the negative wire for the nerw radio since i don't know where to look ?

any advice will be accepted thank you!

holy thread revival batman...... why dont some people just buy a bypass lead, it only cost £20, if people can afford to run a lexus then they can afford that.

the factory amp is not made to be used with aftermarket head units by the way.

I have made it work, but the sound is not as good as it was with the original radio, and plus i hea r a strange noise like if the stereo wasn't shielded...

Just 1 last question, the wires we have seen up there, do you know wich is for the front right channel speaker, front left, rear right and rear left? there are 4 colors white red blue and black, but my radio has only 2 rca outputs...how would you do? mix red and blue, white and black together?

I found this schematic for a 18 pin match up with the MK2 20 pin connector

(only needed if you don't want to use an aftermarket system but have the old type connector and bought the top loader system)

PS go to a scrappy and cut the 20 pin connector + enough cable out ;) they will charge you about a fiver for it....

On the MK2 20 pin connector:

Radio Constant 12V+ Wire: Blue/Yellow

Radio Switched 12V+ Wire: Brown

Radio Ground Wire: Gray

Radio Illumination Wire: Green

Radio Dimmer Wire: N/A

Radio Power Antenna Trigger Wire: Black/Red

Radio Amplifier Turn On Trigger Wire: White/Blue

Amplifier Output Wire Colors (at Amplifier):

Left Front Tweeter Wire (-): Violet

Right Front Tweeter Wire (+): Light Green

Right Front Tweeter Wire (-): Blue

Left Rear Mid Speaker Wire (+): Black

Left Rear Mid Speaker Wire (-): White

Right Rear Mid Speaker Wire (+): Red

Right Rear Mid Speaker Wire (-): White

Left Rear Subwoofer Speaker Wire (+): Black/white

Left Rear Subwoofer Speaker Wire (-): Yellow/Red

Right Rear Subwoofer Speaker Wire (+): Red/White

Right Rear Subwoofer Speaker Wire (-): White/Blue

Wire Colors at Speakers:

the 2 missing wires on the 18 pin connector in the before mentioned wire codes are:
