As you know, the keys for the IS work by emiting a low frequency radio signal. Can you A) takes these on a plane because it is emiting a radio signal and B) does the security scanner at the airport cause any problems to the key?

I know it may be a daft question but any help would be appreciated

I believe it is a passive transpoder type device so emits nothing

under normal conditions, I only reflects back when scanned by the car.

That's what I was told by a Lexus salesman anyway, may not be a proper

technical thing but sure it wouldn't be a problem mate in either case.

likewise, and i certainly would recommend you keep the keys with you and don't pack them. Lots of peiople get caught out when airline loses bags and you arrive back at home airport with no car keys.

also i use the valet facility and always take a spare to keep wih me in case they lock the keys in the car. (still don't trust the keyless system in other people's hands).
