Help! :(

I have a GS300 MK1 Sport - 3 ltr straight six engine, 18 inch alloys and a horn that sounds like it's of a nissan micra.

So what have others done, changed it or left it?

It's got to go but a) I'm useless with anything mechanical and B) what do I change it/them for?

Yours

I thought mine was a bit weedy, until I heard it from outside the car. There is so much sound deadening in the car that I probably couldn't hear if the engine had blown up, or if the exhaust had fallen off. A light on the dashboard would probably come on in those cases though.

My wife used to have a Nissan Micra and the horn on that seemed quite loud too. Maybe you should get your hearing checked!

The loudest horn I have heard is the one that my wife now has on her Mazda 323. The last time she used it, 3 ships travelling up the Bristol channel changed course because they thought they were about to run aground!

If you want to swap horns, engine bays, engines or cars with my wife, I'm sure she'd be happy to oblige you!

Hi Guys

I totally agree with you.

The Gs300 horn is feeble.

I am going to purchase a 12v electric airhorn with an 118dB sound output from a company that specialise in air horns for trucks and trains. They also do a range for cars.

If anyone is interested drop me a PM and i'll gladly pass on the details.

Have to agree about the horn on the GS. My GSmk2 has a very feeble sounding horn, sounds more like it should be on a moped or something. The horn on my IS300 isn't much better :(
