Engine Noise From Inside Is 250 Se Auto

Recommended Posts

Can everyone with IS 250 SE Auto hear their engine from inside when idle stuck in traffic etc.? When i say hear the engine I dont mean as in very noisy but just hear the engine noise generally?

I dont know if its just me, but if i remember correctly I dont actually remember being able to hear engine from inside the cabin? Maybe it's just the noisy rattles i've got that are effecting my mind  the car is going into lexus to have those rattles looked at

You can just about hear it in most situations. Obviously it's quite noticable while the engine is still cold, but once it's warmed up, other ambient noise (aircon, radio, wife, street noise, other traffic etc.) will determine how 'loud' you perceive the engine to be.

No, cannot hear engine noise at all except for the fuel injector system when the bonnet is up.

When i start driving when the engine is cold, the engine does sound very loud and can be heard. This doesnt bother me as it gets better once engine temperature gauge goes half way.

But when i accelerate slowly with the cold noisy engine, the engine sounds like it rattles. The noise is very much like a noise I used to get on my previous car "Toyota Corlla" which had a known issue with the inlet manifold. The manifold was changed under warranty and that solved the problem.

When the lexus is cold and during slow acceleration it sounds just like that, and as soon as engine warms up it goes away. Is this normal?
