Don't know if standard alarm has facilities to enable such a feature, but I'm sure you could adapt it quite cheaply.

I'm presently trying to find time to track-down my alarm box/siren on my MK1, so may be able to be of more help having found it and had a maul. (present target location being behind inner-wing liner, which needs to be removed)

There will be a 12v dc pulse sent from the alarm box that lights the indicators/hazard circuit when the appropriate command is sent.

I would consider acquiring a small 12v piezo siren/sounder that could be scotch-locked/spliced into this circuit. (any half decent electronics supplier will stock these, i.e. Maplins, Tandy etc. for a couple of quid) I recently wired one up to my security lights, via 12v adaptor, to bleep in the house when lights come on.

Each time a pulse is sent to the indicators, it will also feed the little bleeper, and sound-off the number of bleeps accordingly.

Possible side effect:-

I'm guessing that the alarm may be tapped into the hazard circuit, so you may get a bleep when the hazards are flashing. Don't know if this would be good or bad thing, although hazard warning lights are supposed to be used to indicate 'hazards', as opposed to parking on double yellow lines outside the local take-away.

A multi-meter (again, cheap one can be bought from previously mentioned shops for about a fiver) would help determine +ve and -ve leads from alarm before attaching the bleeper.

I'll try and find out a bit more about the alarm box and post my findings/feasibility re: above, at a later date.
