Having no user manual like many others how do u set the volume for the traffic alerts in the GS300 mk1? Mines set way louder than the radio/CD and scares the shït out of me everytime there's an incident at Clackett Lane Services.....

I too would like to know the answer to this. The first traffic report I received made me jump out of my skin, it was that loud, so I switched it off

From the manual:

When the TI button is pressed for more than 2 seconds, "TA VOL" is displayed for 10 seconds. During this time, you can preset the loudness of the traffic information program by turning the "PWR. VOL" knob.

Any chance of the key sequence for CD-TEXT on the CD player? hehe..

No such luck mate. The manual doesn't even show the stereo that mine has (with the second smaller LCD display for the station name).

but to stay on topic :). glad i know how to turn that down, i think mines on full pelt, frightened the living daylights out of R lass first time, ive never seen her move that fast to turn the radio off

CD-TEXT shows the title of the CD, artist and track name scrolling across the display if it supports it. I dunno about you but CD 5 Track 6 means nowt to me!
