Mate i would not want to be reminded that i drove that peice of :tsktsk: everyday. Should havehad Lexus RX300 on the plate to remind him of what he should have bought.

There's plenty of X5's where I live.

What I don't get is that they most of them are de-badged (X5 badge taken off the back), but then the owner has gone and put an X5 personal plate on the back

I don't get it

i love personal plates if they work well.

some look poo with all the letters missmashed about.

some look good and some are really simple but good.

i saw NU 57 YLE the other day on a tranny van, just spaced like this NU 57YLE nothing to obvious but it looked good.

and i'm sure i've seen plenty of LEX or A30 OGS or A400 OLS plates around too.

but how many members of LOC have a Lexus related plate similar to those below ?

I know of several like L3 X## spaced L3X ## etc

I for one have one that goes on the car after The Nurburgring, so do I qualify as a :tsktsk: ?

L7EXX i must be a :tsktsk:

i think its more about disposable cash. All our family cars have personalised plates, alot with the car name in the reg plate. However its more of a luxury than a need.If you just spent £50k on a car,an extra £1k is nothing to personalise it,especially if you like the car.

i think it depends on what the plate is.

plate related cars are ok and look good if you dont mind losing them when you change cars(unless its suitable for your next car). where as 'personal plates' can stay with you for life and the cost can be divided up by how long you have it.

and generally the plates wont go down in value.

i waited a long time till i got mine, and when it became available i had to have it!! its mine and suits me perfectly and will last me a lifetime and all those that know me think its fantastic. my name is matt ayton and the number is MAT 8N....you say them both the same.

so i like them

  • 3 weeks later...

Spose that puts me in the same boat.... LEX 2***.

Why do ppl put on bodykits etc..........they want to stand out?

On the plus side........no increase on my insurance, it stands out...and unless you know the car you dont know its age.

When it comes to selling, I would put it on retention and try to sell it on, or it will be a good selling point.

When I bought my '03 Freelander I glanced at the DVLC site and found BO03 DOC was available....couldnt believe that so I bought it for around £700 I think it was.....when I sold the car a year later I sold the plate for substantially more :whistling: :winky: I like 'em

Best regards David

ps...it looks just right on the rear square plate as

BOO3

DOC

Some well paid plastic surgeon bought it I guess :whistling:
