Lexus Ls 400 Suspension Questions

Hi to all.

I am hoping that someone can help with a couple of questions.

I have just purchased my 3rd lexus and this one is an import I believe. its a 1996 with air suspension, the front shock seems to be low and softer than the others. are the units individually charged or do they share an air source? If its shared then I am facing either relacing or rebuilding the shock unit, any contacts for this job would be great.

The second question relates to a really sensitive clifford alarm system, seems to go of for no reason, are these sensitive adjustable?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Andy

You have an airbag at each corner that replaces the spring on a normal car and also a shock absorber, if the car is low on one corner then it is the airbag, there are height sensors on each corner that determine the amount of air needed to level the car, it is USUALLY one of these that is at fault. Most garages should be able to check them out, without the need to go to the dealer.

Clifford alarms are adjustable but I would leave it to a specialist as well, muck about too much and you could immobilise the vehicle totally

Good Luck

Thanks Pete, I will look in the yellow pages for a reasonable local garage to check out the suspension, I will take your advice on the alarm. me and wiring never see eye to eye at the best of times

Thanks again Pete
