I have a IS200 Se on a 99 plate. I have the car for 7 years and its been great. This is my first problem Ive had with it. The RAC came and did a check and cam up with cylinders 1,3,5 missfireing... he seems to think is required new coil, however does this enhine have 2 coils or 6 coil

s? does anyone know how I go about getting it fixed.

please help

There are Six coil packs, right along the top of the engine, they look like plastic boxes with one screw to hold them in.

Get three more coil packs, (either new about £100 i think, or second hand which as long as they work are just as good.) and just undo the screw, unclip the wires, pull it out and put the new one in. job done.

BTW welcome.

Hi

Thanks for the prompt reply... do you think it would be worth doing all six? is it something I can do? or would it need to go to a garage?

cheers

Something you can do yourself, you dont need all 6, just the one's that not working, thay are under the airbox, you need to take the airbox off 1st :D

If it ain't broke.......

Yeah all you need is a socket (10mm i think) and a small screwdriver to get the wire connector off. 5minutes max.

Stav

edit: Gord beat me too it, forgot about the airbox as well lol
