New Mot Law ?

 Share

Recommended Posts

Just had the IS MOT'd and noticed a blue MOT station style logo sticker on my windscreen.

Forgive my ignorance but is this a new law ? If so its a bl**dy good idea as the Police will be able to see at a glance if a car has a current MOT.........Next step would be a sticker for current insurance....then the pillocks that cost us loads (uninsured/unroadworthy vehicles) would be forced of the roads :yahoo::yahoo:

Round where I live (SE London) the police have regular stop checks where road tax less cars are clamped on the spot another good idea....

should have two small stickers to go abaove the tax disk.. one for insurance and one for MOT

But.. again we will have to face the innitial costs of this.. but still a good idea.

Um..and what happens when your MOT (or insurance) runs out? Do they come along and remove the stickers :P

Unless you are going to have stickers the size of Tax discs then the Police will probably still need to stop you to see if the date has expired.

The insurance issue is almost in hand, all linked through D.V.L.A. A police van sits on the side of the road with a couple of cameras on board which read the number plate as you approach and if things don't match up, a nice policeman will pull you within 1/2 a mile and confiscate your car, very nice system. Only waiting for information on company cars to tie it all up. So BE AWARE, big brother is starting to open his eyes.

That MOT sticker is not a requirement by law to be stuck on on the screen I was told when I had my Lex MOT'd. It is only a reminder to the keeper of the vehicle

the word is that the price of mots are to go up to as much as £120+ as the goverment are`t making enough money out of road tax . its a way of saying that they have kept road tax down when they are in power and get your hard earned cash another way .

When you think about the state of the roads (not congestion but potholes etc) and the money they get from us already in VAT & Duty from petrol/initial purchase now this.......
